Rattle between block and trans?

I heard some noise coming from the firewall at WOT, did not sound familiar. So when I got home, I opened the hood, gave it a little gas and could hear like a rattling noise sounds like between the block and the trans. A mechanic told me it could be the torque converter is loose, any ideas?
