I've been looking at the Madelectrical diagrams that used a 79 truck for there project witch had 10 gauge wires between the alternator, bulkhead, gauge and battery (starter relay). My 68 Barracuda (according to the wiring diagram for it) has 12 gauge wires from the alternator through the bulkhead to the gauge and back to the bulkhead then it goes to 10 gauge to the starter relay.
